Location - Lake City is a Masterplan concept for a new eco development in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The local region of Tonle Bati, contains some of the best examples of Late Peroid Angkor architecture outside of Angkor itself. The local context was researched to derive a number or contextual clues that inform the 270 Ha district.
Focused on creating a community-scaled urban development, Lake City brings together the knowledge learnt from traditional local settlements in combination with a Tech-Enabled
approach to create thriving mixed use communities.
Walkable streets and blocks reinforce this respect for local culture, each node of the plan creating a semi self sufficient '10 minute city'.
This phased and market- driven development provides a test bed of future solutions to the growing housing market in one of the fastest growing and urbanizing populations in Southeast Asia.
Through the use of SMART technologies and infrastructure such as data-driven lifestyle centres, good transport linkage and open space amenities, Lake City is set to become the foremost sustainable and ecological development within the region.
